I'm supposed to use this space to tell you why my agency is the best, and why you should choose Heart to Hands.And we are pretty great, but so are a lot of other agencies.What I really want to tell you is why I am running a surrogacy agency.If it strikes a chord with you, then maybe Heart to Hands is the right agency for you.If it doesn't, there are a lot of really good agencies out there and I'd be happy to recommend one to you, because having an agency support you, understand you and be there for you is incredibly important.
I chose to be a surrogate a lot of years ago because my heart couldn't handle the idea that people who really wanted to be parents, who wanted it more than anything in the world, couldn't do it.I understand now how naïve and innocent that view is, but underneath it all this is still why I am involved with surrogacy.I have delivered three wonderful healthy babies (twins & a singleton) to a family in New York, and darling twin girls to an International family.I can't even begin to share the honor and joy it is knowing I helped make these families.And I also can't begin to say how much I respect the work Intended Parents do to have a family through surrogacy.It's hard, and scary and you have to turn your whole self inside out to make this happen.I recognize this, and the beauty that it is, will be, can be.And I want to help it happen for you.
So, with that said, here is all the other stuff that makes Heart to Hands really great to work with:
Choosing your agency is an important decision.Your agency should be able to provide the services you need (at a cost you can afford), offer referrals, and make you feel like all the details are being handled.Your agency should understand your needs, respect your wishes and desires, and advocate for good communication and a great relationship between the Surrogate and the Intended Parents.Your agency should also know the Assisted Reproductive Technology field, be aware of resources and changing technologies, be knowledgeable about legal issues and be able to share all of that information with you!
But your agency should also offer you more.Your agency should make you feel safe and should offer a place where you can be honest - where you aren't being judged or made to feel crazy, where you can ask any question without offending someone, and your agency should listen to you about your needs and dreams.Your agency should understand that working through infertility and choosing surrogacy is part of a long journey that involves heart, perseverance, letting go and above all else trust.
