Hi, my name is Heather, and I’m addicted to pregnancy tests.(“Hi Heather”).
So we left off after my transfer which was on October 29th.I waited 3 days to start taking pregnany tests.And I didn’t cheap out either- I bought a 2 pack of the good ones- First Response Early Result.
SO basically, unsurprisingly- it was negative.Or “BFN”(big fat negative) as internet lingo goes.I wasn’t dissuaded.I was going to the states for a shopping trip the next day, so I was ready to stock up!
Practice makes perfect, so I peed again 4 days after the transfer, and got my second negative (and that exhausted the two pack of tests I bought!).I went on my shopping trip, ate gratuitous amounts of pizza (hey, I *may* be eating for 3, right?) and came back with no less than 10 pregnancy tests (they are so much cheaper in the USA for the record).
That night, I got home fairly late- maybe 8pmish? And immediately ran to test out one of my new fancy tests.These ones were the First Response Early Result “6 days sooner” variety, so slightly more sensitive than that morning/day priors’ tests.
And….Drumroll please.I got a VERY FAINT POSITIVE.And I mean faint.I took a billion pictures to try to send it to my CFC surrogacy support worker- and it was hard to get it in focus even.Eventually I cracked open the test and scanned it
It’s there, I promise.It just didn’t show up well.
