Explain your reasons for wanting a surrogate/donor:
I know it's trite to say that having a child would complete me, but that's pretty much the truth.My ex-wife and I went through three rounds of IVF before the doctor delivered the devastating news that her eggs were not healthy enough.I seek a traditional surrogate, using IUI in a doctor's office or clinic because it is a healthier choice than the use of fertility drugs. I also have one other non-negotiable: I am seeking a known surrogate - not an anonymous one.In fact, I am open to, and would welcome continued involvement in our child’s life in any way.
How would you best describe yourself(s):
As I approach my 65th birthday, I try to keep my ego in check, remain calm, and care about the world and the creatures who inhabit it.I love life and have a long list of places I want to see, books I want to read and things I want to learn.My great passions are theatre, traveling, reading, music, art, swimming, cosmology, nature and religion. My biggest flaw is my temper, but I am not a physically violent person.When I am angry, I lash out with my tongue. I was born to an Irish Catholic woman, raised by an adopted Jewish family, but my spiritual beliefs come from being a hippie in my youth.I believe there is an interconnectedness among all living beings. I have had two successful careers as a teacher and a theatre director.I am certified in English, Math and Theatre and have over twenty years of teaching experience in the public schools.I also founded the Hartford Children’s Theatre, which ran for 20 years, and I have directed over *** plays – mostly by and/or for children and their families.

The best part of surrogacy is knowing I'm doing it for the right reasons. I can hardly wait delivering the baby and observing the parents finally seeing him or her for the first time. There are a lot of sacrifices I will need to make as a surrogate. I have considered all pros and cons and I am certain I must be a surrogate for as long as I can. I have been pregnant twice and both times, I was using protection. That goes to show, I come from an extremely fertile family. Nevertheless, I've never wanted to have children of my own, this is why I've given my children up for adoption and have no regrets. I have always known instinctually that I’m not an attached type of person. Neither, am I the mother type. I view surrogacy as a long babysitting project. It’s not sad for me at all. The only regret I have is that I haven't done it sooner. I am a 36-year-old Portuguese teacher who is willing to dedicate the next 5 years of my life being a surrogate to help others make their dreams come true and also, to build up a nest to invest on a house and on my phD certification.
